About Edam
Edam means “The Space”- but it is more than a space. It is a place for the misplaced. In a world that constantly asks you to adjust, perform, survive and stay strong, Edam is where you are allowed to simply be. In a world that still sees mental health issues as socially nonacceptable, Edam welcomes you acknowledging and appreciating your place in the society as precious. Edam was born from a gentle belief- that healing does not happen in pressure, but in presence. That every person, no matter how lost, overwhelmed, broken or confused they feel, deserves a place that feels like coming back home.
At Edam, therapy is not about fixing what is “wrong” with you. It is about understanding your story with compassion. It is about making sense of your wounds without shame. It is about rediscovering the parts of you that were silenced, rushed or forgotten. This is a space where, your emotions are not “too much”, your questions are not dismissed, your struggled are not minimized, your faith, doubts, fears and hopes can coexist safely.
We hold space for the anxious heart, the tired parent, the grieving soul, the confused young adult, the couple trying again, the one who tries to hide the pain behind substance abuse, the not so accepted mentally different ones, and the child who never felt seen. We believe healing is not becoming someone new, instead gently returning to who you were born to be. Here, therapy is a conversation, restoration and a slow unfolding. Edam is not just a counseling practice; it is a warm room and safe return.
Edam is a trauma-informed care center led by Renji with a group of professionals in the mental health sector. We have a transdiagnostic approach to mental health problems and healing journey. We adopt eclectic holistic approach in handling the socio-emotional issues of each individual. It is a confidential, nonjudgmental and homely space where we customize therapy as per each clients need.
